Prince Fielder went hitless in a fourth straight game and struck out twice Saturday against the A's.
Fielder and Miguel Cabrera haven't been able to get hot at the same time for Detroit, which is a big reason the team is currently 16-17. Fielder will surely improve from where he is now, but it looks like Comerica Park is going to cost him in the power department this season.

Prince Fielder hit a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Yankees in New York.
Fielder's fourth inning blast off of CC Sabathia was his only hit of the afternoon, and just his third home run of the season. He hadn't gone deep in 20 games coming into this afternoon. He's hitting an excellent .309/.387/.444, however, suggesting plenty more home runs should soon be on the way.

Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 defeat of the Royals.
Fielder hit a run-scoring double in the fifth inning and an RBI single in the seventh, then picked up his first steal of the season (and only the 17th of his career). He's batting .356/.412/.533 with two dingers and eight RBI through his first 12 games of the 2012 campaign.

Prince Fielder belted two towering home runs off of Josh Beckett as the Tigers downed the Red Sox 10-0 on Saturday.
Prince went opposite field with a solo shot in the fourth inning and followed it up with a massive drive to right in the fifth. The new Detroit first baseman finished the day 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. He also had a bit of a scare in the seventh inning as he was hit in the shin by a Matt Albers fastball. Fielder did stay in the game to run and should be fine moving forward.

A-Jax was penciled into the initial release of the Detroit batting order but apparently felt lingering discomfort in his abdomen during pregame warmups. The 25-year-old center fielder will try again Wednesday.

Victor Martinez (knee surgery) has been off crutches for 10 days.
Martinez had microfracture surgery on his left knee in late January and underwent a procedure in early March to help the healing of his ACL. V-Mart can't afford any setbacks, but he's encouraged about the possibility of returning in September. We should know more about his status when he undergoes an MRI during a check-up in July.

Valverde hasn't pitched since last Tuesday because of lower back tightness. The 34-year-old right-hander has a 5.51 ERA and is just 7-for-9 in save opportunities this season but remains a strong fantasy option at closer and should be made active in all leagues immediately.

Luis Marte (hamstring) tossed three scoreless innings Monday in a rehab appearance at Triple-A Toledo.
Marte walked one and struck out two while allowing just one hit. He needed only 35 total pitches to get through the three solid frames. The right-hander should be ready for activation from the disabled list within the next few days but might just remain stationed in the Toledo 'pen.

Tigers transferred RHP Al Alburquerque from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster. Alburquerque is currently working his way back from right elbow surgery and is unlikely to return to the majors until July.
