Curtis Granderson scored the Yankees' only run in Thursday's loss to the Blue Jays.
Granderson had two hits, including a double in the first inning off Drew Hutchinson, and improved his average to .257 on the season. The Yankees, of course, had just five hits as a team and left 12 runners on base. Granderson will look to stay hot going into interleague play with the Reds this weekend.
May 17 - 10:17 PM
Curtis Granderson connected on his 13th homer of the season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to lead the Yankees to victory over the Orioles.
It was his only hit of the night as O's starter Wei-Yin Chen shut down the New York bats. Granderson is now hitting .257 on the season with 13 homers and 23 RBI, though to nitpick he has only stolen one base on the year.
May 15 - 10:00 PM
Curtis Granderson continued his impressive power outburst Tuesday, connecting on his ninth home run of the season in the Yankees' loss to the Orioles.
Granderson finished the game 2-for-3 with the solo shot that accounted for all of the Yankees scoring on the night. While many skeptics and detractors claimed that Granderson's power was likely to regress this season, he's done his best to prove those doubters wrong. Even more impressive than the nine homers and 17 RBI on the season is the fact that he's maintaining a respectable .276 average. He remains one of the most prolific offensive performers in the game.
May 1 - 11:06 PM
Curtis Granderson launched home runs to right field in three consecutive at-bats Thursday, leading the Yankees to a 7-6 win over the Twins.
Just an epic night for Granderson. He got the show started in the first inning with a solo shot off Anthony Swarzak. Swarzak was again the victim in the second inning, as Grandy connected for a two-run blast. Then in the fourth inning, he connected on his third consecutive home run, this one a solo blast off Jeff Gray. He finished the monster evening 5-for-5 with the aforementioned three home runs, three runs scored and four RBI. He now has six homers on the season and looks well on his way to replicating his tremendous effort from a season ago.

Brett Gardner (elbow) has had another setback and will not be allowed to hit off tee until Monday.
The Yankees were hoping that Gardner would be able to pick up a bat Thursday, but manager Joe Girardi said the outfielder still has some stiffness in his right elbow. It doesn't sound like a major setback, but it's the second one Gardner has experienced. His return doesn't appear to be on the horizon.

Michael Pineda (shoulder) told Sweeny Murti of WFAN that he expects to be "100 percent" by spring training next year.
"Yeah, the doctor before the surgery, he told me, 'Hey no worries. You can’t pitch this year, but I promise next year you’ll be ready 100 percent in spring training.' That’s what he told me before the surgery," explained Pineda. The 23-year-old right-hander needed surgery last month to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder and while he's young enough that there's still hope for his career, setbacks are certainly possible. He's no sure thing to be ready for spring training.

Yankees transferred RHP Mariano Rivera from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
It clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Andy Pettitte. Rivera is out for the season with a torn meniscus and ACL in his right knee.

David Robertson (oblique) will begin his rehab work Thursday in Florida.
Robertson is eligible to return from the disabled list Sunday, but that won't happen. It's possible he could be ready for the June 1-3 series at Detroit. Yankees manager Joe Girardi won't say whether Rafael Soriano or Robertson will close when the latter returns. "Here's my prayer: Let's just get Robby back," Girardi said. "Let's just get him back to where he's comfortable and get him in a game before we start making official decisions."

Yankees placed LHP Pedro Feliciano on the 60-day disabled list.
He was cleared to make room for the newly-signed David Aardsma. Feliciano underwent rotator cuff surgery last September and is expected to miss most of the 2012 season.

David Aardsma
D.L.
David Aardsma (elbow) has begun throwing sliders.
The rehabbing right-hander had been limited to fastball-only bullpen sessions for the past couple of weeks, but he's beginning to take significant steps forward. Aardsma, who underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery last July, could be a candidate to join the Yankees' bullpen before this year's All-Star break.
May 15
11
Joba Chamberlain
D.L.
Joba Chamberlain (ankle) is no longer wearing a walking boot.
The update was provided via his personal Twitter account. Chamberlain, who dislocated his right ankle in March, now only needs a basketball ankle brace to get around. He's also ramping up his workload throwing and working out, which is significant since he's still less than a year removed from Tommy John surgery. There's a chance he could rejoin the Yankees' bullpen late this season if all goes well.
May 8
12
Brad Meyers
D.L.
Yankees placed RHP Brad Meyers on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 26, with a right labrum strain.
Meyers, who was selected from the Nationals in December's Rule 5 Draft, didn't appear in a game this spring after injuring his should while working out during the offseason. The timetable for his return isn't yet clear, but he'll likely need to spend a couple of weeks in the minors before being a legitimate consideration for a call-up.

Cesar Cabral
D.L.
Yankees transferred LHP Cesar Cabral from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Matt Antonelli on the 40-man roster. Cabral, a Rule 5 pick, was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left elbow during spring training.
