After pitching shutout ball into the eighth, Phil Hughes ended up allowing four runs in 7 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the Royals.
Hughes gave up five singles, one of the bunt variety, before being pulled with two runs in. Two inherited runners came around to score off the pen from there, snapping Hughes's streak of five straight quality starts. Of course, for seven innings tonight, he was just as good as in any of the previous five. Aug 27 - 11:13 PM
