McCutchen was injured sliding into home Thursday, but it's not a major concern and he isn't dealing with any structural damage. The Pirates should update his status on Monday.

Andrew McCutchen was scratched from the Pirates' lineup due to pain in his right knee.
It's not clear at this point how McCutchen suffered the injury or if it might cause him to miss additional games. The Pirates should offer an update on his status soon. Starling Marte will move over to center field to cover for McCutchen, while Travis Snider plays left and Garrett Jones right.

Andrew McCutchen delivered a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Pirates a 4-3 win over the Brewers on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh.
McCutchen's first hit of the game was also Pittsburgh's last, as the right-hander crushed a Mike Fiers fastball to center field to end it. The home run was just McCutchen's fifth, but he's steadily improved his batting average in recent weeks and the power numbers should soon follow. We're still confident the Pirates star will round into form in short order.

d'Arnaud has been sidelined since undergoing left thumb surgery late in spring training. He figures to need a few weeks' worth of rehab at-bats but could be optioned to Triple-A after that.

That's assuming he gets through bullpen sessions on Tuesday and Friday with no issues. McDonald is slated to go four innings and/or throw 65 pitches for Altoona, so he'll need at least one additional rehab start before being activated. He's not a given to rejoin the rotation once healthy.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Thursday that Charlie Morton (elbow, shoulder) will make three more minor league rehab starts.
Morton's rehab from Tommy John surgery was recently halted due to some shoulder soreness, but he returned to game action Thursday with Double-A Altoona and gave up two runs in four innings. If all goes well, he could join the Pirates' rotation in the early part of June.

Karstens, currently working his way back from shoulder inflammation, gave up one run in three innings Monday in his first rehab outing with High-A Bradenton. He could join the Pirates by early June, though it isn't clear what his role will be.
