Yunel Escobar extended his hitting streak to seven games Saturday in a three-hit effort against the Twins.
He reached base four times, mixing in a walk with three singles. Escobar had a chance to tie it in the ninth inning but he ended the game on a groundout to shortstop Eduardo Nunez. Escobar has picked up right where he left off last season when he hit .314 in 139 games for Washington. So far, he’s batting .356 with a stunning .431 on base percentage. If you come across Escobar on the waiver wire, now would be the time to pounce. Apr 16 - 5:33 PM
