J.A. Happ was largely ineffective against the Astros on Sunday, as he allowed six runs over six innings.
While Happ did manage six strikeouts (he now has 15 strikeouts over his last 12 2/3 innings), he also served up two home runs. Evan Gattis smashed a three-run shot in the first inning and Chris Carter hit a two-run shot in the third. Marwin Gonzalez singled in the sixth run an inning later. Prior to Sunday, Happ had not allowed more than two runs in a single start, so even with the six runs tacked to his line, his ERA still stands at a respectable 3.51. He holds a 24/6 K/BB in 23 1/3 innings and will take to the road against the Rangers in his next start. May 3 - 5:08 PM
