J.A. Happ allowed three runs over six innings and struck out eight Monday in a no-decision against the Red Sox.
With this week set to determine whether the Jays are still in the playoff race, a pre-Aug. 31 trade for Happ can't be ruled out. The Jays probably aren't going to want to pick up his $6.7 million option for next year, but he has been decent enough to perhaps help a contender at the back of the rotation next month. Since the All-Star break, he has a 3.46 ERA and a 37/11 K/BB ratio in 41 2/3 innings. Aug 25 - 11:00 PM
