Steve Pearce hit a game-tying solo home run in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough for the Orioles as they suffered a walk-off loss against the Yankees on Thursday.
The O's entered the top of the ninth trailing three runs, and Pearce stepped to the plate after Adam Jones had hit a two-run home run. Pearce crushed a David Robertson offering to left-center to tie the game up, but the O's would lose in the bottom half on Derek Jeter's walk-off single. Pearce continues to hit the ball well, as he's batting .295/.373/.560 with 21 home runs and 49 RBI. The Orioles are hoping that can be brought into the playoffs. Sep 25 - 10:36 PM
