The Giants are planning to give Johnny Cueto an extra day of rest before five of his first six scheduled starts of the second half.
The schedule allows for them to be cautious with Cueto, who is pitching through some damage to his ulnar collateral ligament. The veteran right-hander has struggled in two starts since being activated, posting a 7.20 ERA and 9/5 K/BB ratio over 10 innings. Cueto has yet to throw 100 pitches in a start this season and will probably rarely, if ever, go much beyond that mark in the second half. There's certainly risk with the righty, but fantasy owners should be starting him for as long as he stays healthy. Jul 20 - 12:39 PM
