Luis Valbuena went 3-for-5 with a pair of homers to lead the Angels to a 9-2 win over the Tigers on Tuesday.
In something of an oddity, it was the bottom of the Angels' lineup doing all of the work tonight; Valbuena, Ian Kinsler and Martin Maldonado combined to go 8-for-12 with four homers and all nine RBI. The struggling Valbuena hadn't homered since May 1, and his OPS was down to .593 going into tonight. He'll need a couple of more good games if he hopes to make any real in-roads as far as getting extra playing time. Right now, he's mostly just serving as the first baseman when Shohei Ohtani is unavailable (with Albert Pujols DHing). May 29 - 11:06 PM
