Luis Valbuena went 2-for-3 and hit his 21st homer to score the Astros' only run Friday against the A's.
It was just Valbuena's second homer in six weeks. However, he's been raising his average; it stood at .195 after he hit his 18th and 19th homers on June 23 and it's .213 now. As a result, he's getting playing time at first over Chris Carter with Jed Lowrie back. Manager A.J. Hinch will likely just go with the hot hand the rest of the way. Aug 8 - 12:51 AM
