Jose Mijares arrived in Royals camp Sunday morning.

Mijares had been delayed in his native Venezuela due to visa issues. Though he's missed a week of action, he should have no trouble getting up to speed before long. The portly left-hander is looked to bounce back from a disappointing 2011 campaign that saw him hold a 4.59 ERA and 30/30 K/BB ratio over 49 innings. Feb 26 - 10:58 AM

	2	Yuniesky Betancourt D.L. Yuniesky Betancourt (ankle) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Thursday at the Double-A level. Betancourt has been out of commission since May 2 with an ankle sprain. It is fully healed by now and he should be ready to return to the bigs by the end of May. May 22

It's a really bad injury for a base stealer and he won't even start rehab work until next week. Speedster Jarrod Dyson projects to get most of the starts in center going forward. He's hitting .321 with two swipes in his first seven appearances of the season. May 4

	3	Jonathan Sanchez D.L. Jonathan Sanchez (biceps tendinitis) is heading to the Royals' spring training complex for rehab work. He'll eventually progress to a minor league rehab assignment. Sanchez, who was placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 8, seems doubtful to return before the end of May. He has posted a brutal 6.75 ERA and 18/22 K/BB ratio through six starts this season. 	5	Danny Duffy D.L. Dr. Lewis Yocum confirmed that Danny Duffy has a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. Yocum confirmed the initial diagnosis by Royals head physician Dr. Key. Duffy will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery in Los Angeles within the next two weeks and figures to miss the early part of the 2013 campaign. It's disappointing given the improvement he showed this season, but there's still plenty of promise here in the long-term. May 18
