Matt Wieters went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and five total RBI in Sunday's 9-4 win over the Cubs.
Not only did Wieters hit a grand slam, he did so in a huge spot. At the time he went yard with the bases juiced and one out in the eighth inning, the game had been tied at 4-4. Not so when the ball landed. Wieters had been in an 0-for-12 slide entering action on Saturday, but has now picked up hits in three of his last five at-bats. For the season as a whole, the veteran catcher is slashing .245/.294/.382 with eight homers and 43 RBI over the course of 86 games played. Aug 6 - 6:30 PM
