Matt Harvey suffered his first loss of the season Thursday after giving up one run in seven innings against the Cardinals.

Harvey was hardly deserving of the loss, but he received little support from his offense with Adam Wainwright on the hill for St. Louis. He allowed just five hits and one walk on the day while striking out seven. While he took the loss, his ERA actually went down from 2.10 to 2.04. Niese allowed six hits and four walks, so it wasn't pretty, but he kept his team in the ballgame. However, a two-run single by opposing pitcher Scott Feldman in the fourth inning was enough to put him on the losing side. He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June. Should he secure a spot in the Mets rotation, he could carve out a decent amount of value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues. May 17
