Excellent news for d'Arnaud, who has been sidelined since mid-April with a broken bone in his left foot. The 24-year-old backstop is expected to return to game action within 3-4 weeks and should make his major league debut at some point during the second half.

Mets prospect Travis d'Arnaud has shed the protective walking boot from his once-fractured left foot.
It's a nice step in the right direction for the rehabbing catcher. He broke a bone in his foot during a game at Triple-A Las Vegas in mid-April and has been sidelined ever since. The hope is that d'Arnaud will be cleared for live action within the next 3-4 weeks. He should climb his way to the major league level at some point this year.

D’Arnaud broke a bone in his left foot during a game with Triple-A Las Vegas in mid-April, but an examination Monday showed that everything is healing properly. The 24-year-old backstop will continue to wear the boot as a precaution as he begins the rehab process. He's still a couple of weeks away from game action, which will almost certainly push his major league debut into the second half of the season.

D’Arnaud suffered a non-displaced fracture of the first metatarsal in his left foot during a mid-April game at Triple-A Las Vegas and is still in a protective boot. If the Mets determine he's healthy enough to resume baseball activities, it will likely still be 2-3 weeks before d’Arnaud returns to game action. The 24-year-old is not expected to be a candidate for a promotion to majors until well into the second half of the season.

The move clears a spot for Scott Atchison's return from the disabled list. Turner will be eligible to return in early July and has a chance to be ready by then. The 28-year-old is batting .266/.307/.330 in 94 at-bats this season.

Tejada is limited to fielding grounders hit right at him, as well as hitting off a tee. He missed seven weeks with a right quad strain last season, and it's looking like he could miss that much time again, which would put his return in mid-July.

Jon Niese yielded two runs in 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday.
He struck out five. Niese allowed six hits and four walks, so it wasn't pretty, but he kept his team in the ballgame. However, a two-run single by opposing pitcher Scott Feldman in the fourth inning was enough to put him on the losing side. The southpaw has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last five starts and now owns a 4.15 ERA on the year. He'll face the Braves next week in Atlanta.

Jenrry Mejia (elbow) racked up six strikeouts over three innings during his first minor league rehab start with High-A St. Lucie on Friday.
Mejia has been on the disabled list for the entire season with inflammation in his pitching elbow. He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June. Should he secure a spot in the Mets rotation, he could carve out a decent amount of value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

Atchison suffered the injured while warming up during Tuesday's doubleheader. The veteran right-hander just made it back after missing a month with elbow inflammation, but now he'll need to miss at least two more weeks.

It's just a procedural move to open a spot on the 40-man roster. Familia underwent surgery Wednesday to remove bone spurs from his right elbow and likely won't factor into the Mets' bullpen again until 2014.
