Jordan Zimmermann delivered his best outing of the young season in a no-decision, holding the Marlins to two runs (one earned) in seven innings of work in Monday's win.
Marcell Ozuna singled in a run in the first inning, providing the Marlins their only run until the seventh, when Justin Bour hit a solo home run. Zimmermann only allowed six hits in total while walking none and striking out four. He got off to a slow start, but the Nationals hope Monday's outing is a sign he's turned the page. He has a 4.15 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP, and a 22/6 K/BB ratio in 34 2/3 innings. Zimmermann toes the rubber against the Braves next. May 4 - 10:01 PM
