Rays manager Joe Maddon spoke to Alex Cobb (concussion), who said there's no timetable for his return.
Cobb was diagnosed with a concussion after he was hit in the head by a line drive on Saturday and is currently on the 7-day disabled list. He'll have to be cleared by MLB before returning to action and Maddon isn't ready to say for sure when that might be. It could be a lengthy absence.

Alex Cobb (concussion) will not travel with the Rays on their upcoming seven-game road trip.
Cobb was diagnosed with a mild concussion at Bayfront Medical Center after being hit in the head by an Eric Hosmer line drive Saturday at Tropicana Field. He has been placed on the 7-day disabled list and will miss at least one turn in the Rays' starting rotation. The young right-hander has registered a fantastic 3.01 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 76/23 K/BB ratio in 83 2/3 innings this season.

Rays placed RHP Alex Cobb on the 7-day disabled list with a concussion.
The news is all good with Cobb, as he "only" has a mild concussion and will be released from the hospital Sunday. Still, it's no surprise that the Rays are playing it cautiously and disabling him. There's no timetable for when he'll rejoin the rotation.

Cobb stayed in the hospital overnight for more tests, which all came back negative. The right-hander has a mild concussion but has avoided any more serious ailments. He still figures to be placed on the 7-day DL, though, and there is no timetable for his return.

The Rays are expected to set his rehab schedule on Wednesday. The club had thought that Price would need three rehab starts before returning, but he's looked better than expected and might not need that much time.

It's his first since last September's Tommy John surgery. It's possible Oviedo could make it back to the Rays' bullpen late in the season, but they signed him in hopes that he could contribute in 2014.

Rays transferred RHP Jeff Niemann from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the newly-acquired Jeff Beliveau. Niemann underwent shoulder surgery last week and is unlikely to return this season.
