Jake Odorizzi was pummeled for eight runs in four-plus innings Monday in a loss to the Orioles.
This came out of nowhere. Odorizzi struggled back in April, but he had allowed three runs or fewer in 17 of 20 starts since, never giving up more than five. He allowed four homers tonight, the last two coming consecutively to end his outing. After he was pulled, Kirby Yates made it three in a row, giving up a bomb to Chris Davis. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Odorizzi wear down some in September, but we'll chalk this one up as a fluke for now. He gets the Red Sox next. Aug 25 - 10:37 PM
