A.J. Pollock broke out of a slump by going 3-for-5 with two runs scored Monday against the Rockies.
Pollock went 1-for-19 last week, and he was hitting just .204 in May. He's probably getting sent down later this month when Adam Eaton comes off the DL.

A.J. Pollock homered, doubled in two runs, walked and stole a base versus the Padres on Saturday.
Pollock, who was supposed to open the season in the minors until Arizona's outfield fell apart, has four homers, 10 doubles and five steals this season. Sure, he also has a 17/3 K/BB ratio, but he's been a heck of a fill-in so far.

A.J. Pollock homered twice, doubled and knocked in four runs in the Diamondbacks' 10-2 win over the Pirates on Wednesday.
Pollock was expected to open this season in Triple-A, but that was before both Adam Eaton and Cody Ross got hurt. As is, he's starting in center field most of the time, and today's game should help keep him in the lineup. He entered the day hitless since going 3-for-4 with a double in the Diamondbacks' opener on April 1.

A.J. Pollock (abdominal strain) returned to the Diamondbacks' lineup Thursday as the designated hitter.
Pollock still can't play the field, as he only feels pain in the abdominal area when he exerts himself throwing. It shouldn't be too much longer until he returns to the outfield.

That will be two weeks after Hill was hoping to get the go-ahead to resume baseball activities, as his fractured hand is healing much slower than expected. The original timetable had him possibly returning by late May, but he probably won't be activated until well into June now.

Bloomquist has been playing games at extended spring training and hasn't had any recent setbacks. He should be ready for activation before the end of the month.

Adam Eaton is dealing with renewed soreness in his left elbow and has returned to Phoenix for an examination.
Bad news. Eaton, who was diagnosed with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in March, began playing in rehab games earlier this month and felt well enough to return to center field last week. However, the pain has returned. The worst-case scenario would be season-ending Tommy John surgery, but it's not clear if that's a consideration yet. But it's obviously a concern.

Daniel Hudson (elbow) gave up two runs on five hits over four innings in an extended spring training game on Friday.
It's the first time since last year's Tommy John surgery that Hudson has faced hitters wearing a different uniform. The D'Backs says the righty's fastball sat in the 91-93 mph range, which is obviously a good sign. "The light at the end of the tunnel is getting a little bit brighter now," Hudson said. Hudson will appear in another extended spring game next week and doesn't appear far off from a rehab assignment. He could be back as soon as late June if all goes well, though the big club doesn't currently have room for him in the rotation.

Putz has been diagnosed with a sprained ligament, a strained flexor pronator and nerve irritation in his right elbow -- all of which can be addressed through rehab. He will try to return before the end of the 2013 season. Heath Bell has taken over Arizona's ninth-inning gig.
