Mike Montgomery pitched well but came away with a no-decision in Saturday's contest with the Twins, as he allowed one run on four hits over six innings.
Montgomery struck out six and walked two in the contest. He was actually in line to earn a tough 2-1 win, but the Mariner bullpen self-destructed and allowed two runs in the bottom of the ninth to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Montgomery struggled with the home run in July, allowing seven taters over the month, but the problem did not rear its head on Saturday. He'll take a 3.07 ERA and 1.19 WHIP into his next start, a home outing against the Rangers. Aug 1 - 11:46 PM
