Doug Fister held the Indians to two runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings of Wednesday's loss.
He struck out three and walked two. Fister was cruising along until the sixth, where he served up a two-run homer to Travis Hafner. He was yanked after allowing a two-out single to Jose Lopez in the seventh. Tonight was Fister's second longest outing in four starts since coming off the disabled list on May 7, though he's gone at least six frames every time out. He'll bring a 1.84 ERA into Monday's game in Boston.

Doug Fister took a tough loss after giving up one run in six innings Saturday against the A's.
Fister has allowed one run in 13 innings since coming off the DL, but he has an 0-1 record to show for it. Who would have thought run support would be an issue for Tigers pitchers this season?

Doug Fister shut out the Mariners for seven innings Monday in his return from the disabled list.
Fister allowed just four hits and walked none in the gem, which saw him throw just 73 pitches. If it wasn't his first start back, he would have gone at least eight and maybe nine. However, as it was, he had to sit back and watch the bullpen blow his 2-0 lead, leaving him with a no-decision.

Tigers activated RHP Doug Fister from the 15-day disabled list.
The 28-year-old right-hander has been on the disabled list since the first week of the season due to a left costochondral strain. Fister has a nice matchup in his return to the mound, as he'll take on his former team, the Mariners, in Seattle on Monday. He's a recommended fantasy play.

Martinez had microfracture surgery on his left knee in late January and underwent a procedure in early March to help the healing of his ACL. V-Mart can't afford any setbacks, but he's encouraged about the possibility of returning in September. We should know more about his status when he undergoes an MRI during a check-up in July.

Luis Marte (hamstring) tossed three scoreless innings Monday in a rehab appearance at Triple-A Toledo.
Marte walked one and struck out two while allowing just one hit. He needed only 35 total pitches to get through the three solid frames. The right-hander should be ready for activation from the disabled list within the next few days but might just remain stationed in the Toledo 'pen.

Good news. Schlereth is already performing range of motion exercises and should soon be cleared to resume throwing. He's been on the disabled list since late April.

Al Alburquerque (elbow) has begun long-tossing at the Tigers' spring training facility in Florida.
Albuquerque is throwing from 150 feet, and if he continues to be progress should be cleared to throw off a mound before long. The Tigers are hoping to get the hard-throwing reliever back around the All-Star break.
