Jansen blew a save Friday, but he ended up with the win in that one. He's now 5-for-6 since replacing Javy Guerra in the closer's role.

Kenley Jansen blew the save Friday, but he picked up a win after allowing a run in an inning of work against the Cardinals.
A Lance Berkman homer tied it up, but Jansen struck out the other three batters he faced. This one shouldn't hurt his standing as Dodgers closer.

Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect ninth to protect a one-run lead and earn his third save Saturday against the Rockies.
Jansen looked strong in his first save chance since officially replacing Javy Guerra in the closer's role for the Dodgers. It's not a stretch to believe that he'll be fantasy baseball's most valuable closer the rest of the way.

Called on in a non-save situation in the ninth inning Wednesday, Kenley Jansen walked one and struck out two in a scoreless frame, protecting Los Angeles' 6-2 win over the Giants.
Jansen's yet to get a save opportunity since officially being named Los Angeles' stopper on Monday, but they'll come soon enough. Through 17 2/3 innings, he's posted a 2.55 ERA to go along with a 0.96 WHIP and eye-popping 29/8 K/BB ratio.

Mark Ellis remains hospitalized following surgery Saturday to relieve pressure in his left leg.
Ellis could wind up missing six weeks of action, depending on the doctors' diagnose of his knee and ankle condition. The second baseman reportedly might have needed his left leg to be amputated if they had waited four or five more hours to perform the surgery.

Juan Uribe (wrist) has already been cleared to resume baseball-related activities.
Uribe was placed on the 15-day disabled list just one week ago with soreness in his left wrist. An MRI taken Sunday showed no structural damage and he's expected to begin full workouts Monday. The veteran infielder should be back in action by late May or early June.

Jerry Hairston Jr. (hamstring) is scheduled to begin playing in extended spring training games Monday.
Hairston will play in games Monday and Tuesday before being re-evaluated for possible activation Wednesday. The veteran infielder has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 7 with a strained left hamstring.

Juan Rivera (hamstring) is scheduled to be reevaluated at some point next week.
The Dodgers previously feared that Rivera could need surgery to repair a hamstring tendon rupture, but they are now optimistic that he'll be ready to return within the next couple of weeks. "He's really progressing well, and is on a best case scenario for us right now," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly. Bobby Abreu will continue to get most of playing time in left field for now.

He's eligible to be activated on May 29 and is aiming to do just that. Kemp was given a platelet rich plasma injection Wednesday to help speed up the healing of his strained left hamstring and has reported steady progress to this point.

He was cleared to make room for the newly-claimed Matt Angle on the 40-man roster. De La Rosa underwent Tommy John surgery last August and is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2012 season.

Matt Guerrier (elbow) threw his second bullpen session on Wednesday since landing on the disabled list back in mid-April.
He could soon face hitters and then go out on a rehab assignment shortly after that. Guerrier is hoping to be back by the first of June. "It's going good right now," said Guerrier. "I'm recovering. I'd like to be back by June 1 if I could. I don't feel any sharp pain anymore, and that's what I was having before."

Dodgers placed RHP Blake Hawksworth on the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow injury.
Hawksworth underwent surgery this winter on his elbow to remove a bone spur and scar tissue, then required another procedure a few weeks later to clean up an infection. He's not expected to be ready until mid-May.
