Jose Quintana held the Cardinals to two runs over seven innings Sunday for his ninth win of the season.
Quintana issued four walks and surrendered six hits, but he mostly prevented the Cardinals from inflicting major damage as the Cubs took the rubber match of a big five-game set against their arch rival. Quintana entered the All-Star break with some shoulder fatigue, but he got nearly two weeks off between his final start of the first half and this outing Sunday. The 29-year-old left-hander will carry a decent 3.87 ERA into his next turn Friday at St. Louis. Jul 22 - 6:16 PM
