Mets prospect right-hander Michael Fulmer will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
It's not a major surgery, but he obviously won't start the season on time at this point. Fulmer, who turns 20 on Friday, had a 2.74 ERA and 101/38 K/BB ratio over 108 1/3 innings last season with Class-A Savannah and was ranked as the organization's No. 7 prospect by Baseball America over the winter.

Jenrry Mejia (elbow) racked up six strikeouts over three innings during his first minor league rehab start with High-A St. Lucie on Friday.
Mejia has been on the disabled list for the entire season with inflammation in his pitching elbow. He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June. Should he secure a spot in the Mets rotation, he could carve out a decent amount of value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

The move cleared a spot on the Mets' 40-man roster for Aaron Laffey. Santana (shoulder) won't pitch this season.

Francisco was diagnosed with a mild strain of the flexor pronator in his right elbow last week, but he's already back at it. However, it's not clear if he's throwing from a mound or simply playing catch or long-tossing. Either way, he's not close to rejoining the Mets' bullpen.

Mets placed RHP Scott Atchison on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right elbow.
Collin McHugh was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the vacant bullpen spot. Atchison has been shut down for a week and prescribed anti-inflammatory medication. It's not clear when he might return.

If all goes well, Familia should quickly move up to Triple-A Las Vegas. He should get another chance in the major league bullpen before long. The 23-year-old right-hander has been sidelined since May 8 with right biceps tendinitis.
