A.J. Griffin surrendered four earned runs in six innings Saturday as the A's lost to the Mariners.
Griffin gave up eight hits -- one homer -- and issued two walks. He has allowed a total of eight runs over his last two starts but still has a cool 3.93 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 69/22 K/BB ratio in 89 1/3 innings this season. The young right-hander will try to bounce back next week in Texas. It'll be a tough test.

A.J. Griffin shut out the Brewers for seven innings on Tuesday but failed to earn his sixth win as the A's lost to the Brewers.
The loss was no fault of Griffin's. The right-hander was dominant, allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out five in his seven innings. Despite the no-decision, Griffin remained 5-4 while lowering his season ERA to 3.67 with the outing. He'll hope for better fortune against the White Sox on Sunday.

A.J. Griffin gave up three runs on seven hits over six innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Royals.
It was another solid outing from Griffin, who has allowed a combined seven earned runs in his past four starts. He finished with five strikeouts and was removed after the sixth inning at 105 pitches. Griffin didn't factor in the decision, but continues to pitch well this season. He has a plus matchup with the Astros on Saturday.

A.J. Griffin struck out eight in firing seven innings of one-run ball Monday in a 5-1 win against the Rangers.
Griffin allowed six hits and no walks, his only blemish a Mitch Moreland solo homer in the second. The youngster continues to display excellent control, but he's going to have to fix a recent propensity toward the long ball, having watched seven balls sail over the fence in his last five starts. Griffin takes a 4-3 record and 3.48 ERA into Sunday's outing against the Royals.

Anderson is still working his way back from a stress fracture in his right foot and will be forced to remain in a walking boot for at least another four weeks. The Athletics have transferred him to the 60-day disabled list and he won't be reevaluated until after the All-Star break.

Rodriguez will miss the entire 2013 season. The 28-year-old had a 5.37 and 78/34 K/BB ratio over 70 1/3 innings last season with the Astros and was acquired in February's Jed Lowrie deal.
