Ronny Cedeno went 2-for-5 and hit a three-run homer Thursday versus the Reds.
The homer was his first as a Met. Cedeno is playing regularly at shortstop right now with Ruben Tejeda out, but he doesn't figure to have much long-term value in NL-only leagues.

Mets activated INF Ronny Cedeno from the 15-day disabled list.
Cedeno had been out since late April with an intercostal strain. He's starting at shortstop Friday and should see ample time there while Ruben Tejada (quad) is on the shelf.

Ronny Cedeno (intercostal strain) went 0-for-4 and played nine innings at shortstop Thursday in his first minor league rehab game with High-A St. Lucie.
Mets manager Terry Collins said he wanted Cedeno to have some success on offense before bringing him back from the disabled list, but there's still a chance he'll rejoin the Mets on Friday. Once activated, he's expected to serve as the primary shortstop while Ruben Tejada (quad) is on the shelf. Fantasy owners can steer clear, though.

The Mets are planning to activate him on Friday. The 29-year-old middle infielder was hitting just 3-for-12 (.250) this season with three walks and three strikeouts when he hit the shelf on April 23.

Thole has been shut down since suffering a concussion earlier this month in a home plate collision with Phillies' infielder Ty Wigginton. He isn't experiencing headaches any longer and a timetable for his return should become clearer in the next few days. Mike Nickeas and Rob Johnson will continue to split playing time behind the plate for now.

Tejada did not the play the field, but the at-bats were a step in the right direction for the injured shortstop. He's aiming to return to the majors this weekend.

Bay, who is currently rehabbing a non-displaced rib fracture, is scheduled to begin taking batting practice off coaches on Wednesday. He is expected to be eased into action as DH in rehab games before playing the field. He's likely two weeks away from rejoining the Mets.

Batista left Saturday's start with the ailment. Though the Mets have yet to reveal a timetable for him, he doesn't seem likely to miss much more than the minimum time. Jeremy Hefner is expected to replace him in the rotation.

Pedro Beato (shoulder) allowed one hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning for High-A St. Lucie on Monday in his second minor league rehab appearance.
Beato, who began the year on the DL with rotator cuff inflammation, tossed two hitless innings in his first appearance on Saturday. The Mets may option him to Triple-A Buffalo once he has built up enough arm strength, but he figures to find his way back to the big leagues before long.
