Astros optioned RHP Ken Giles to Triple-A Fresno.
Giles was charged with three runs and failed to retire a batter during his latest appearance Tuesday. He boasts a 31/3 K/BB ratio over 30 2/3 innings this season, but his ERA sits at 4.99 because he's been prone to so many blowup outings. Giles will look to get straightened out at Fresno and still has a shot to play an integral part in the Astros' bullpen this season, but he might not be seeing any more save opportunities coming his way. Hector Rondon is the favorite for saves in Houston, although manager A.J. Hinch could mix others in. Jul 11 - 4:09 PM
