Braves prospect OF Braxton Davidson has been promoted from the Gulf Coast League to Rookie-level Danville of the Appalachian League.
The No. 32 overall pick in this year’s draft, Davidson batted .243/.400/.324 with eight extra-base hits, eight RBI and a 32-22 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 37 games in the GCL. The 18-year-old was viewed as one of the best pure hitters in this year’s draft class, but his value will always be tied to his bat given his limited defensive profile as a left field and/or first baseman.
