The BBWAA announced Tuesday that Twins manager Paul Molitor was named American League Manager of the Year.
Molitor received 18 out of the 30 first-place votes. Indians manager Terry Francona netted 11 first-place votes and finished in second place. Astros manager A.J. Hinch finished third in the balloting. Molitor's award is recognition for a historic turnaround, as the Twins became the first team in MLB history to make the postseason coming off a season of 100 or more losses. Molitor joins Frank Robinson as the only Hall of Fame players to also win Manager of the Year. Nov 14 - 6:50 PM
