Eric McClure will be reaching a milestone this weekend in his Nationwide Series career; he will be making his 200th start during the season-opener at Daytona.
McClure’s first recorded NNS start came in 2003, where he has competed in at least one race every year since then. This weekend’s DRIVE4COPD 300 will mark his 14th start at the famed 2.5-mile superspeedway. In 13 starts, the 34-year-old driver has completed 88.6% of the total laps attempted and has an average finish of 30.2. One year ago, McClure was on-track to earn a career-high finish when a mistake by another competitor relegated the team to a 22nd-place finish, with just six laps remaining in the event.

NASCAR veteran John Monsam has replaced Wes Ward as crew chief for Eric McClure and the #14 Hefty/Reynolds Racing team effective immediately.
Monsam has worked for top Sprint Cup organizations like Dale Earnhardt Inc, Roush Fenway Racing, The Wood Brothers, and former Camping World Truck Series team Kevin Harvick, Inc. He most recently led Nationwide Series driver Jason Bowles and the #81 team at Randy MacDonald Motorsports to a 13th-place and 22nd-place finish in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Driver and Owner standings respectively. In 19 years, the 52-year-old crew chief has recorded one ARCA Series victory, seven Camping World Truck Series victories, and two Nationwide Series victories.(TMI)-jayski.com

Eric McClure will return to the TriStar organization for the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) season, driving the familiar orange and blue No. 14 Toyota Camry in all 33 scheduled events.
McClure, 34, made his NNS debut in 2003 and will make his 200th start at the season-opener on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Daytona International Speedway. In his two years with TriStar Motorsports, McClure has recorded one top-15, eight top-20, and 30 top-25 finishes. Additionally, he earned a career-best season-ending points finish of 16th following the 2012 season. NASCAR veteran Wes Ward will continue to lead McClure and the Hefty®/Reynolds® Racing™ team during the 2013 season. This will mark Ward’s 23rd year of NASCAR competition and his second with the 34 year-old driver.

After spending the last six weeks sidelined due to injuries received during a late-race accident at Talladega Superspeedway on May 5, Eric McClure has been medically cleared to return to the seat of his Hefty/Reynolds Wrap Camry.
While sidelined, teammate Jeff Green piloted the #14 Camry and has earned three top-20 finishes.(TMI)-jayski.com
