In 24 Sprint Cup starts at Charlotte, Ryan Newman has four top-five finishes and eight top-10s.
He has led 273 laps, has an average start of 6.9 and an average finish of 20.1 at CMS. He has nine poles at Charlotte – the most of any active Sprint Cup driver. Newman’s first career pole came at Charlotte on May 27, 2001, in only his third Sprint Cup start. The feat tied Newman with Mark Martin for earliest career Sprint Cup pole. Although Newman doesn’t have a points-paying Sprint Cup win at Charlotte, he does have three victories at the track – an ARCA win (October 2000), a win in the NASCAR All-Star Race (May 2002) and a win in the Nationwide Series (October 2005).-True Speed Communication

Ryan Newman’s win in the Goody’s Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in April 2012 secured his place in this year’s edition of NASCAR’s annual All-Star race.
In 11 starts in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, Newman has one win (2002), one pole (2005), three top-five finishes and seven top-10s. Newman also attempted to race his way into the 2001 All-Star Race but he was sidelined early due to an expired engine.-True Speed Communication

Matt Borland, crew chief on the No. 39 Chevrolet SS driven by Ryan Newman in the Sprint Cup Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway wins the Moog Problem Solver of the Race award.
The award goes to the crew chief that improves the most from first half of the race to the second half utilizing the 40 best lap times (improved 0.124 seconds). Newman started the race in 21st place and finished in 10th. He is currently 17th in the 2013 Sprint Cup point standings.

Ryan Newman has yet to find victory lane at the 1.366-mile oval, he has amassed impressive stats at the "Track Too Tough To Tame."
He has scored top-five finishes in half of his 14 starts at Darlington, and also has nine top-10s. His best finish at Darlington came during his rookie campaign in the fall 2002 Southern 500. In just his second start at the legendary racetrack, He was 12th on the grid, led one lap and finished second to Jeff Gordon. He also had a third-place finish in spring 2004, fourth-place efforts in 2007 and 2009, and fifth-place runs in the spring 2002, 2005 and 2011 events at Darlington.-True Speed Communication
