Speaking to a local radio station on Thursday, Ronnie Brewer said that he wants to return to the Bulls next season.
With Jimmy Butler emerging as a more inexpensive option, the Bulls may not grant Brewer's wish. Brewer was supposed to be a bench player, but started 43 games during the season with Richard Hamilton injured most of the year. Brewer's role was reduced in the first round of the playoffs when Hamilton returned, only playing 13 minutes in each of the first two games and was even a healthy DNP-CD in Game 3. He did play in the last three games, including 29 minutes in Game 5. It would be a surprise if Brewer returned to the Bulls for next season.

Ronnie Brewer, who picked up an unexpected DNP-CD in Game 3, returned to play 17 minutes in Chicago's loss on Sunday.
Brewer was scoreless but had four rebounds and three assists while playing sticky perimeter defense. His return cut into Rip Hamilton's activity, as Rip finished with just seven points on 3-of-9 shooting in 24 minutes. The Bulls have to win three straight games without their MVP in order to advance to the second round.

Ronnie Brewer started for injured Luol Deng (ribs) on Monday, scoring six points on 3-of-9 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, five steals, and one block in 28 minutes.
Brewer has always been a steals guy, though this year his 1.2 steals per game mark is a bit down playing in a part-time role. Should the Bulls decide it's time to rest Deng in advance of the playoffs, give Brewer a look for that category and his low-end production across other cats.

Ronnie Brewer was brought off the bench on Sunday in order to match up with the Thunder's James Harden, and scored seven points with three rebounds and two assists.
Brewer will likely be back in the starting lineup on Monday, but given his recent lack of production he shouldn't be owned in 12-team leagues.

Derrick Rose's doctor said he believes Derrick Rose's recovery from ACL surgery will take between eight and 12 months.
If Rose gets back at exactly the eight-month mark, he'll miss the first 10 weeks of the 2012-13 season. If he ends up needing the entire 12 months, he'd be targeting a return during the playoffs. Somewhere in the middle seems logical, but we won't know until we see how Rose responds to rehab. Rose's doctor added that the 2010-11 MVP "should" return to his old form, but it's not "guaranteed." He also said that a late-January return is a best-case scenario.

Taj Gibson (ankle) will play in Thursday's Game 6 against the Sixers.
There was never much of a doubt here as Gibson was able to finish out Game 5 without a problem. He's participating in the morning shootaround and will be a key piece of the Bulls' bench Thursday night. Gibson is averaging 8.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks through the first five games of the series.

Joakim Noah will work with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the offseason.
Noah will work with Abdul-Jabbar to improve his attack at both ends of the floor, and it's nice to see him using his offseason in productive fashion. He's going to have to play an important role for the Bulls next season with the possibility that Derrick Rose (knee) and Luol Deng (wrist) won't be ready to begin the year. Noah averaged 10.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks this season.
