Ty Lawson is hoping to sign a contract extension with the Nuggets.
Lawson will be eligible for an extension beginning in July, and it sounds like he wants his future to be in Denver. "It's definitely a goal," Lawson said. "I want to be here long term. I'm pretty sure my agent and Masai Ujiri will talk this summer." Beyond giving the Lakers fits in Game 6 and Game 7 in the first round, Lawson had a career season with averages of 16.4 points, 6.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 treys.

Point guard Ty Lawson hit 13-of-18 shots and five 3-pointers for 32 points, five rebounds, six assists and a block in Thursday's blowout 113-96 win over the Lakers, as the Nuggets evened their first-round series with the Lakers at 3-3 as they head back to L.A. for Game 7 on Saturday.
Kenneth Faried added 15 points, 11 boards and two blocks, but the Nuggets will have to beat the Lakers at home to advance to face the Thunder. JaVale McGee is still healthy, but hit just 1-of-5 shots for two points, five boards and a block in 20 minutes. All three players, along with Andre Miller, will have to bring their A-Game on Saturday, if the Nuggets are going to dispatch of the Lakers.

Ty Lawson bounced back from a seven-point performance in Game 1 for a team-high 25 points in Tuesday's Game 2 loss to the Lakers, along with seven assists on 11-of-17 shooting.
He nearly drained a 3-pointer that would have cut the Lakers' lead to one point late in the game, but it went in and out. Arron Afflalo, Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried (double-double), Al Harrington and Corey Brewer were the other Nuggets to finish in double figures, but the Nuggets' backs are against the collective wall right now. The next two games are in Denver, and the Nuggets will have to win both of those in order to keep realistic hopes alive.

Ty Lawson managed just seven points and two assists on 3-for-11 shooting in Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Lakers.
Coach George Karl went out of his way to single out Lawson as someone that has to play better going forward. It's a good bet that the third-year guard will. Lawson averaged 19.0 points and 6.0 assists while shooting 33.7 percent from the field over the final 14 regular season games.

Rudy Fernandez is still open to re-signing with an NBA team, but if he plays in Europe it will be for Real Madrid.
"We'll see if the Nuggets make a good offer to me or not," said Fernandez, who is in Spaid rehabbing after back surgery. His availability for the Olympics remains uncertain.

Al Harrington had surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Harrington is expected to return for summer workouts and to be ready for the start of training camp in October. He originally injured himself on April 1st, and deserves some credit for playing through his knee injury and a broken nose during the playoffs.

The Nuggets view Wilson Chandler as a key part of their future.
"Wilson has already proven that he's a 25-minute (per game) player in the NBA, and he's probably trying to prove that he's a 35-minute player," George Karl said. Karl is hoping that the Nuggets can play Chandler at small forward with Danilo Gallinari at power forward sometimes, which could really create matchup problems on the perimeter for the opposition. Chandler had hip surgery at the beginning of May and is facing a 4-5 month rehab process.

Brewer needed three stitches below his left eye after teammate JaVale McGee elbowed him in Game 5. He'll be fine for his normal minutes as a reserve wing.
