There was never much of a doubt here as Gibson was able to finish out Game 5 without a problem. He's participating in the morning shootaround and will be a key piece of the Bulls' bench Thursday night. Gibson is averaging 8.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks through the first five games of the series.

Taj Gibson had eight points, seven rebounds and four blocks despite playing through a sprained ankle on Tuesday.
He left the game and went to the locker room, but was able to return and finish. We'll have to see how it reacts on Wednesday, and fantasy owners should consider him questionable for Thursday's Game 6 in Philadelphia.

Taj Gibson put up 19 points and six boards on Wednesday, leading the Bulls bench as Chicago bested Atlanta. Gibson threw in a steal and a block for good measure.
Gibson plays well occasionally, but hadn't hit double figures since March 17, averaging just 7.5 points on the season. He's a risky plug and play most nights, but is usually good for some boards and blocks. In the grand scheme of things, he's not worth owning except in the deepest of leagues.

Taj Gibson started the second half of Saturday's game following Joakim Noah's ejection, finishing an overtime victory with nine points, six rebounds, two assists, one steals and two blocks.
Omer Asik might get the start if Noah's ejection (for tossing a ball near a ref while disagreeing with a call) leads to a suspension, but Gibson is the guy with the most fantasy appeal. Just keep an eye on Noah's status for Monday's game vs. Denver.

Derrick Rose's doctor said he believes Derrick Rose's recovery from ACL surgery will take between eight and 12 months.
If Rose gets back at exactly the eight-month mark, he'll miss the first 10 weeks of the 2012-13 season. If he ends up needing the entire 12 months, he'd be targeting a return during the playoffs. Somewhere in the middle seems logical, but we won't know until we see how Rose responds to rehab. Rose's doctor added that the 2010-11 MVP "should" return to his old form, but it's not "guaranteed." He also said that a late-January return is a best-case scenario.

Joakim Noah will work with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the offseason.
Noah will work with Abdul-Jabbar to improve his attack at both ends of the floor, and it's nice to see him using his offseason in productive fashion. He's going to have to play an important role for the Bulls next season with the possibility that Derrick Rose (knee) and Luol Deng (wrist) won't be ready to begin the year. Noah averaged 10.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks this season.
