Evan Fournier admitted after Game 1 that he's adjusting to the pace of playoff basketball.
Fournier, a rookie, looked great toward the end of the season and had several impressive moments this year, but he looked overmatched for much of Saturday's win. He was 3-of-9 in his 22 minutes, scoring 11 points to pair with a couple of steals. "Everything is a little harder, a little faster," he said.

Evan Fournier will start at shooting guard in Saturday's Game 1 against the Warriors.
A rookie out of France, Fournier averaged just 11.6 minutes per game during the regular season. But thanks to a late-season surge via injuries to Danilo Gallinari/Kenneth Faried, he's earned the trust of coach George Karl. The Nuggets will roll with Ty Lawson, Fournier, Andre Iguodala, Wilson Chandler and Kosta Koufos as their starters Saturday. Corey Brewer and Andre Miller will see significant time as guards off the bench.

Coach George Karl heaped praise on rookie Evan Fournier recently.
"We've wanted him to play more minutes, but Andre Miller and Corey Brewer have been playing at a high level all year long," Karl said. Interestingly, Fournier has started the last two games even though Brewer, Miller and Wilson Chandler have all been healthy. The Frenchman has responded by averaging 14.0 points, 3.0 assists, 1.7 3-pointers and 1.0 steals in three starts this year. He's a solid fantasy play in Wednesday's regular-season finale and has upside in 2013-14 with Danilo Gallinari (torn ACL) on the mend.

Starting at SG on Sunday, Evan Fournier notched 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting, with three 3-pointers, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and four turnovers in 36 minutes.
Denver came into this game just half a game ahead of the Clippers for the No. 3 seed, so obviously George Karl has confidence in his rookie guard. Fournier is shooting better than 40 percent from downtown this year, which bodes very well if he starts at SG vs. the Bucks and Suns this week. Owners looking for cheap value shouldn't hesitate to pick him up.

Sidelined
Danilo Gallinari will undergo his second knee surgery in three weeks.
Gallinari had his meniscus repaired three weeks ago, and now he'll undergo a surgery to repair his torn ACL. Since Gallinari won't have his ACL surgery until June, there is virtually no way he'll be ready for the start of the season and we could be looking at a scenario where the forward is out until around Christmas or potentially the start of 2014. It's a situation fantasy owners need to watch closely during the offseason.
