Jae Crowder changed his diet in order to get past the "rookie wall."
Crowder is concentrated on eating better and getting more rest, and he's also seeing a team psychologist at times. "I think I hit the rookie wall early in the year and I've moved forward and I feel pretty good right now," he said.

Jae Crowder grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds in the Mavs' 96-86 win over the Cavs on Friday, but managed just two points on 1-of-6 shooting with two steals and a block in 34 minutes.
Crowder will likely start as long as Shawn Marion (calf) is out, but we're not going to make a big deal over this rebounding total, which is a fluke. He might have some short-term, low-end value for those hunting peripheral stats but it's not a given.

Jae Crowder was efficient in Thursday's loss to the Spurs, shooting 2-of-3 from the field for five points with four boards, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 23 minutes.
Taking the five points out of the equation, it was a solid line from the rookie with no turnovers as a cherry on top. Crowder will continue to start for the Mavs while Shawn Marion is out and has some short-term value in deeper leagues.

Jae Crowder shot 6-of-9 from the field for 14 points with eight boards, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes against the Bucks on Tuesday.
Crowder made the most of Shawn Marion's (calf) absence and looked great on his old college home floor at the Bradley Center. The Marquette product isn't really worth a look since Marion isn't going to be out much longer.

Sidelined
Roddy Beaubois underwent successful hand surgery on Wednesday and is out for the season.
The odds of Beaubois returning are "extremely slim," so we'll consider him out for the season for all intents and purposes. Beaubois will be a free agent in the offseason, and it's hard to see him returning to the Mavs. Dallas will roll with Mike James and Darren Collison at point guard.
