Byron Scott told the Cleveland Plain Dealer he didn't think he got a fair shake from the Cavs.
Scott was fired Thursday after years as Cleveland's head coach. He finished with a record of 64-166 but was saddled with a rebuilding team recovering from losing LeBron James to the Heat. Scott also had to deal with multiple injuries to key players, especially this season with Anderson Varejao missing most of the season and Kyrie Irving suffering multiple injuries.

The Cavaliers officially confirmed that Byron Scott has been fired as head coach.
Cavs general manager Chris Grant said the team will look for an experienced head coach with a defensive background, which sounds an awful lot like former Cavs coach Mike Brown. Grant was non-committal when asked about Brown, but it's clear the Cavs are looking for someone to take their young core and turn it into a contender.

Updating a previous item, Byron Scott has been fired as Cavs head coach, source told the Akron Beacon-Journal.
The writing was on the wall. Once the news is confirmed, Scott will officially end his tenure in Cleveland with a record of 64-166 over three seasons. You can bet the Cavs will be sure that whoever the next head coach is has Kyrie Irving's stamp of approval.

Byron Scott's future with the Cavs is expected to be determined on Thursday.
Scott, according to multiple reports, will be let go and relieved of his duties as head coach of the Cavs. When asked to summarize his tenure in Cleveland, Scott would say only that it was "frustrating, more than anything." It would be a surprise to see him return.

Anderson Varejao recently developed a blood clot in his lung and is out for the season.
A bad break gets worse for Varejao, who is now officially done for the season, according to the Cavs. Varejao just had surgery for a small split in his right quad, and he is expected to remain at the Cleveland Clinic to be treated and monitored. The good news is that he's expected to make a full recovery. This locks Tristan Thompson and Tyler Zeller in as the starting frontcourt for the remainder of the season. Thompson is averaging 10.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks as the starting power forward, while Zeller is averaging 10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks as the starting center.
