Marcus Camby said that he would like to re-sign with the Rockets.
"I would like to be here, but I understand the NBA is a business," he said. Camby seized the starting role from Samuel Dalembert upon his arrival in Houston, and averaged 7.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 24 minutes per game.

Marcus Camby (back) is not expected to play on Thursday against the Hornets.
Camby has played less than 24 minutes in each of his last two games and won't play in the regular season finale. Samuel Dalembert should draw the start in Camby's place, and he's averaged 8.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 44 games as a starter this year.

Playing through his back injury, Marcus Camby contributed four points, nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in Saturday's essential victory vs. the Warriors.
The Rockets need to win out and get some luck (i.e. Suns' losses) in order to sneak into the playoffs. Camby will give the team whatever his body will allow, but a loss to Miami on Sunday might lead the Rockets to rest him for Thursday's season finale.

Marcus Camby gutted out another game playing through his back injury, scoring 14 points with seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal before finally giving way during the fourth quarter after 27 minutes of action.
Seeing 38-year old Camby put his body on the line in an attempt to win the No. 8 seed is a reminder of what real players do at this time of the year. Not only is he dealing with a severe back injury, but his wrist injury could also legitimately hold him out of action, too. The Rockets are going to lose tonight, and they'll fall at to a full game back of Utah for the eight slot. Samuel Dalembert is worth consideration if Camby gets ruled out going forward.

The NBA has suspended Rockets scout David Patrick for one year due to "player contact violations" during the lockout.
It's a stiff penalty that probably stings the Rockets even more since they failed to land any of their high-profile free agent targets. No other sanctions against the team have been announced, so this isn't likely to have a tangible impact in 2012-13.

Beat writer Jerry Zgoda suggests that Kevin Martin could be Minnesota's trade radar in the offseason.
This isn't the first time we've heard Martin's name in connection with the Timberwolves. Rick Adelman had success with him during his tenure as coach in Houston, and the Timberwolves need to pursue an upgrade at the shooting guard position. The Rockets would probably love to shed Martin's bloated salary, and he would fill a need for Minnesota. File it under speculation for now, but this is a scenario that could make plenty of sense for both sides.
