Jason Richardson's knee surgery was called "Denovo surgery."
Denovo surgery is where the doctors take juvenile cartilage and implant it back into the damaged knees where there is a cartilage issue present. This was an alternative to micro-fracture surgery, which most fantasy basketball owners are all too familiar with at this point. Even without setbacks, Richardson won't be able to resume normal basketball activity until "late January-early February."

Jason Richardson underwent left knee surgery Tuesday.
As previously announced, Richardson will miss the rest of this season and is not expected to be ready for the start of next season. The two players the Sixers acquired in the Andre Iguodala trade -- Richardson and Andrew Bynum -- have combined to play in 33 of a possible 102 games this season.

Jason Richardson will have knee surgery on Thursday, with an expected rehabilitation of 9-12 months.
J-Rich will be on crutches for six weeks after the surgery and it's anyone's guess how much he'll contribute next season. He is under contract for $6.2 million in 2013-14, with a $6.6 million player option the following year.

Jason Richardson confirmed that he'll have to get knee surgery and is out for the season.
Richardson will be out for 9-12 months following surgery meaning that he will not be ready for the start of the 2013-14 season. As a veteran with a history of knee injuries, he'll have to prove he's healthy at every step of his rehab and faces a long road to return. Nick Young is locked and loaded as the Sixers' starting shooting guard the rest of the season. He's averaged 15.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.9 3-pointers and 1.1 steals in that role so far.

An NBA GM said that Andrew Bynum won't get more than a one-year deal.
This isn't exactly earth-shattering news on Bynum and conventional wisdom would suggest that most teams would be extremely apprehensive to sign him to a multi-year contract. He missed every game this year and over the previous five seasons, Bynum missed 26.0 games per season. A 25-year-old center already having serious durability issues is going to make it tough on his agent to get leverage in contract negotiations.
