The Nets have discussed a possible contract extension for Gerald Wallace, but they're unlikely to make any moves until Deron Williams decides where he'll play next season.
"We've had conversations with [Wallace's] representatives," said GM Billy King. "We'll leave that there." Wallace has stated his desire to return with the Nets, who otherwise gave up a lottery pick to rent him this season.

Nets GM Billy King said re-signing Gerald Wallace to a multi-year deal is a priority.
Wallace, 30, will opt out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent. The Nets have his Bird Rights, so they can offer him a five-year deal. However, it's unclear if Wallace wants to re-sign with the Nets -- especially if Deron Williams walks.

Nets GM Billy King said that he "doesn't expect" Gerald Wallace to pick up his contract option for next season.
Wallace hinted previously that he'd opt out of his deal, and this should make it as official as it can be before the veteran actually declines the option. Wallace wants a multi-year contract at this stage of his career, and the Nets will likely attempt to work something out with him after forking over a ton to Portland to nab him at the trade deadline.

Gerald Wallace will opt out of his deal with the Nets and become a free agent.
The Nets gave up a top-7 pick in this season's lottery for a few games of Wallace at the end of a meaningless season. If that pick turns out to be any good, the trade could go down as one of the worst in NBA history.

D-Will is hoping that the newly-minted Brooklyn Nets can improve their roster enough to compete in the East, in which case he'd be the star of an NYC team with huge media exposure/marketing opportunities. If a deal with L.A. were to be discussed, it would have to involve a sign-and-trade.

Humphries has previously said that he wants to be back with the Nets, so this should just be a matter of working out money. The former Mr. Kardashian played out this season on a one-year, $8 million contract. He's likely looking for a long-term deal this time around after averaging a double-double in two straight seasons.
