ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the NFL is moving toward suspending the Pro Bowl game, as soon as this year.
Per Mort's report, teams would still honor Pro Bowl incentives to avoid a conflict with the NFL Players Association. "There may be no Pro Bowl this year," ESPN's John Clayton said on

Thursday. Commissioner Roger Goodell has spoken of eliminating the Pro Bowl game since February. Last year's 59-41 AFC win over the NFC was booed for its lack of intensity.

ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski will be removed from the Monday Night Football booth and spend more time in the studio as stipulated under a new five-year contract.
Jaws will not be replaced on Monday Night Football, leaving Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden as a two-man booth. Along with Mike Mayock and Cris Collinsworth, Jaworski has been one of the top color analysts in the business. His loss could send quite a few fans for the mute button on Monday nights.

Aaron Rodgers was voted as the Associated Press' 2011 NFL Most Valuable Player.
Rodgers led the Packers to a 15-1 record and NFC North title this season and is the third consecutive quarterback to be voted MVP, joining the Patriots' Tom Brady (2010) and Colts' Peyton Manning (2009). Rodgers threw 45 touchdowns in 2011, and had an NFL-best 122.5 quarterback rating. It was the highest single-season passer rating in league history. The Associated Press awarded Rodgers 48 votes to two for Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Commissioner Roger Goodell announced Friday that Thursday night NFL Network games will expand from eight to 13 in 2012.
NFL Network will carry Thursday night games from Week 2 to Week 15. Goodell also revealed that all 32 teams will be guaranteed at least one prime time game over the course of the season. As long as fantasy owners have access to the internet and/or Twitter, injury updates shouldn't be a concern for early-season Thursday games.

Packers team physician, Dr. Pat McKenzie, is "hopeful" that RB Alex Green (ACL surgery) will be ready for training camp.
Already running four days a week, Green has graduated to "a little bit" of cutting. He's stayed ahead of schedule in his rehab all offseason. "My speed is picking up daily," Green said. "I'm definitely excited with where I'm at."

Packers FB John Kuhn has been diagnosed with an "MCL injury," and will not require surgery.
It's the best possible news for the would-be Pro Bowler, and means he should be back to 100 percent well before training camp. Kuhn signed a three-year, $7.5 million contract in July before leading the Packers in rushing TDs this season.

Greg Jennings (rib contusion) is expected to participate in the Pro Bowl.
"It's better than we thought initially after the game, so that's good news," coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday. It's still possible Jennings will ultimately skip the January 29 exhibition game, but it's clear the injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Giants isn't a long-term concern. Coming off a campaign where he made 67 catches for 949 yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games, Jennings will make $3.9 million in the final season of a four-year contract in 2012.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy acknowledged that TE Andrew Quarless (ACL, MCL surgery) will be "challenged" to be ready for training camp.
Quarless is a candidate to open the season on the PUP list. "Andrew, just from a timetable standpoint, is a question mark," McCarthy admitted. The Packers' top three tight ends to open the year should be Jermichael Finley, Tom Crabtree, and D.J. Williams. Quarless could reenter the mix around midseason.
