NFL owners voted Tuesday to approve moving the trade deadline back two weeks.
The change will go into effect for the 2012 season, moving from Week 6 to Week 8, if the owners and NFLPA can agree on the details. The issue came under scrutiny last year when the Broncos waived Kyle Orton just after the early trade deadline, preventing the Bears from making a deal when Jay Cutler was lost for the season. The owners also approved a change to injured reserve that would allow one player to return to game action eight weeks after being placed on I.R.

Cowboys signed QB Kyle Orton, formerly of the Chiefs, to a three-year contract.
Orton's first visit was his last. The money must be excellent, as Orton certainly could have found a better shot at starting if he let the quarterback market play out. He's an upgrade on the retiring Jon Kitna, who had long been one of the better backups in the league. Although many Cowboy fans will likely claim otherwise, Orton's signing should not be interpreted as any sort of a message to Tony Romo.

Free agent QB Kyle Orton's first visit will reportedly be with the Cowboys.
The Cowboys tried to claim Orton off waivers from the Broncos last November, so they've been interested for awhile. It's interesting that Orton would consider a clear-cut backup job as opposed to the opportunity to compete for another starting gig. Per Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network, Orton is also drawing interest from the Redskins.

Speaking at the Scouting Combine, Chiefs GM Scott Pioli expressed some interest in re-signing free agent Kyle Orton.
Re-signing Orton wouldn't be aiming high, but it at least would give Matt Cassel legitimate veteran competition. "We’ve talked to Kyle’s people," Pioli said. "It sounds like Kyle would like to be with us. We’ve told Kyle we’d like to continue to work with him. ... Things have to work out (contractually)."

Felix Jones is being limited at Cowboys OTAs due to recovery from offseason shoulder surgery.
The Cowboys expect Jones to be 100 percent by training camp. The contract-year tailback battled a right shoulder issue, a high ankle sprain, and a hamstring pull last season. He'll return as DeMarco Murray's change-of-pace back.

Cowboys rookie WR Danny Coale will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair a broken bone in his left foot.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, it's a broken fifth metatarsal that should keep Coale out a month. The Cowboys hope to have Coale on the field early in training camp, but the missed practice time will set the fifth-rounder back in his competition for the third receiver role. Andre Holmes, Kevin Ogletree, Dwayne Harris, and undrafted rookie Tim Benford are also vying for the job.

Cowboys WR Raymond Radway (broken leg) resumed running four weeks ago, but remains "hesitant cutting."
Radway was making a strong push for a roster spot last season before breaking his leg in the Cowboys' preseason finale. He expects to participate in OTAs. Radway is technically in the mix with Kevin Ogletree, Dwayne Harris and Andre Holmes to replace Laurent Robinson as the Cowboys' third receiver, but it's unlikely Dallas is done making moves at wideout.
