Bills signed QB Vince Young to a one-year, $2 million contract.
Young was terrible in seven spot appearances (three starts) with the Eagles last season, posting a 4:9 touchdown-to-interception ratio in a West Coast offense for which he's a poor fit. The Bills will hope a humbled Young can upgrade on pricey incumbent backup Tyler Thigpen. Since Young has superior talent to Thigpen, we'd expect the former No. 3 overall pick in the draft to win the job in training camp. Young has enough playmaking ability to enter the fantasy radar if starter Ryan Fitzpatrick goes down.

Free agent Vince Young left Buffalo without a contract in place following his tryout on Wednesday.
Per the Buffalo News, "indications are no announcement is imminent." Young threw passes in the workout to David Nelson, Donald Jones, Naaman Roosevelt, and Marcus Easley. V.Y. looked to be in impressive shape by all accounts, but the Bills may not formally sign him until just before training camp.

Bills WR David Nelson caught passes from Vince Young in Wednesday's tryout, and said the free agent quarterback "looks good."
Nelson also commented that Young appears to have been keeping himself in good shape during the offseason. The Bills are expected to "seriously" consider signing Young before training camp to compete with backup Tyler Thigpen.

According to ESPN's John Clayton, the Bills are "serious" about signing free agent Vince Young to compete with Tyler Thigpen behind Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Young will work out for the Bills on Wednesday. "If he does have a good workout, I think the GM Buddy Nix would be very serious about making that type of a move," Clayton said on

Tuesday. "... If Vince Young works out well, they're serious. They may sign him." Thigpen is owed a $2.5 million base salary, which is fairly hefty for a backup. Young could come more cheaply.

Stevie Johnson will undergo groin surgery "over the next couple of days" to repair the injury that plagued him throughout 2011.
He has three months before the start of training camp, which should be plenty of time. Johnson's agent characterized the operation as "extremely minor," and assured that his client would "be at [the Bills'] facility for all activities." Johnson played through the injury all last year. He still caught 76 passes for 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns, setting a career high with a 13.2 yards-per-reception average and finishing as the No. 21 fantasy receiver.

He'll be placed on injured reserve. Caussin, a second-year undrafted free agent out of D-IAA James Madison, finished with five catches for 41 yards in six appearances. He won't be on the 53-man roster to open next season.
