9/10/2011: Signed a seven-year, $96 million contract. The deal contains $36 million guaranteed, $32 million of which is guaranteed for skill and the other $4 million for injury. Adrian Peterson (hernia surgery) says he's "pretty much 100 percent," and that he's lifting "more" than he was before his operation.
In other words, he's getting stronger than ever. AD has been a full participant in Vikings OTAs, and won't have any health issues holding him back as he guns for 2,500 yards rushing this season.

Peterson is almost four months removed from his operation. Greg Jennings underwent the same procedure during last season, and was back in action nine weeks later. Health is not an issue for fantasy's consensus No. 1 overall player.

Adrian Peterson said his goal for this season is to run for 2,500 yards.
Peterson rumbled for 2,097 last season even though he was coming off a knee reconstruction and playing through a sports hernia. In order to reach 2,500 yards, he'd need to average 156.25 yards per day over 16 games. It's not going to happen, but Peterson is set up for another run at Eric Dickerson's single-season record of 2,105 yards. Lead-blocker Jerome Felton and mauling tackle Phil Loadholt are both back and Peterson will be 21 months removed from his ACL tear by the time Week 1 rolls around.

Adrian Peterson is "not quite" all the way back to "full speed" running and cutting coming off his February sports-hernia operation.
Peterson underwent the operation in the first week of February, and is expected to be 100 percent for Vikings OTAs. The situation should be a distant memory by training camp.

Vikings WR Greg Childs (torn patellar tendons) is up to 225 pounds.
Childs is listed at 217 on the team's official website, but what makes it so much more impressive is that he had dipped all the way to 180 last winter. Childs was recovering from double patellar tendon tears, and the pain medicine made him sick to his stomach. He's now lifting "crazy weight, like lineman weight" as his recovery is ongoing. Childs could be medically cleared for the start of training camp, but any contributions in 2013 would be a surprise.
