Browns agreed to terms with CB Tramon Williams, formerly of the Packers, on a three-year, $21 million contract.
That's a ton of coin for a 32-year-old cornerback, especially since the Browns already have one of the league's highest-paid corners in Joe Haden, and used a 2014 top-ten pick on Justin Gilbert. It signals a lack of faith in Gilbert following his disastrous rookie year. Of course, Williams was still a solid cover man last season, intercepting three passes across 1,032 snaps. Williams should open the year as a starter, but has experience in the slot. He could kick inside in nickel situations if Gilbert emerges on the perimeter. Mon, Mar 16, 2015 02:49:00 PM
