Packers waived OT Herb Taylor, WR Andrew Brewer, S Micah Pellerin, and CB Dion Turner.
They're four predictable cuts a few days before the Packers were required to make them. Taylor, 28, has the only NFL experience of the group, appearing in 18 career games with one start. The other three players were undrafted rookies.

Packers signed T/G Herbert Taylor, formerly of the Broncos.
Taylor was considered a zone-blocking prospect coming out of TCU in 2007 because he's heady and athletic. He's appeared in 18 career games, making one start. Taylor will be a versatile reserve during Green Bay's playoff push.

Broncos waived OT Herbert Taylor.
This is the second time in three days Taylor has been waived. Taylor appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs in 2008, but hasn't played a down since. Although he's still only 26 years old, it's quite possible his NFL career is over.

Giants waived OT Herb Taylor.
The Giants surprisingly brought in Shawn Andrews off the street, which possibly took Taylor's roster spot.

Undrafted Jaguars QB Jordan Rodgers will be sidelined until training camp after undergoing sports-hernia surgery.
Aaron's younger brother, Rodgers is competing with fellow undrafted QB Matt Scott for No. 3 duties. This gives the more-talented Scott another leg up in a competition the Jaguars would likely prefer him to win.

Maurice Jones-Drew (Lisfranc surgery) said his foot is now healed and he's concentrating on strengthening his ankle.
The Lisfranc surgery is so brutal because players can't even run for months after it. Jones-Drew is finally able to exercise fully now. "The weight's going to come off as I work out," he said. "All I could do (after surgery) was eat. With this injury, you don't want to break the screws and have to get the surgery over again. I couldn't move." MJD remains questionable for the start of training camp.

Coach Gus Bradley said he's giving suspended WR Justin Blackmon a clean slate.
Blackmon has two DUI arrests and a four-game substance-abuse violation on his resume since 2010. But none of that occurred while Bradley was in contact with the 2012 No. 5 overall pick. The pair is having regular conversations as Blackmon tries to stabilize his life and career. "He's never done anything wrong with me. It'd be different if I was talking to him and I didn't feel like we were connecting at all. I do feel a connection," Bradley said.

Jaguars TE Brett Brackett underwent groin surgery Tuesday.
Brackett has never appeared in an NFL game since going undrafted out of Penn State in 2011. He spent last year on injured reserve with a knee injury. The pass-catching tight end is expected back to compete for a roster spot at training camp.
