3/3/2011: Signed a four-year, $11.2 million contract. The deal contains $4.2 million guaranteed, including a first-year roster bonus of $2.7 million, Thomas' 2011 base salary, and $860,000 of his second-year salary. Annual $100,000 workout bonuses are available in years two through four. Undisclosed salary escalators are also available in the final three years. 2012: $2.16 million, 2013: $2.1 million (+ $300,000 roster bonus), 2014: $2.5 million (+ $300,000 roster bonus), 2015: Free Agent

Pierre Thomas is fully recovered from the concussion that knocked him out of the Saints' playoff loss at San Francisco.
"I'm great," said Thomas. "Ankle's all good. Body's feeling good. Head's feeling good." It's not clear how long the concussion symptoms lingered, though coach Sean Payton said a couple of days after the collision that Thomas was going to be "just fine."

Pierre Thomas (head) was absent from the Saints' locker room following Saturday's Divisional round loss, but coach Sean Payton said he was "going to be o.k."
Donte Whitner's thundering first-quarter hit appeared to leave Thomas momentarily unconscious, and it's likely he's dealing with a concussion. Thomas' absence made it nearly impossible for the Saints to run against the 49ers, and called to mind their Wild Card loss to the Seahawks last season, where an injury-plagued backfield led by Julius Jones got nothing going on the ground. It was the kind of day the Saints thought they'd be able to avoid when they made Mark Ingram a first-round pick.

Pierre Thomas was sent to the locker room on the first drive of the Divisional round playoff game against the 49ers.
Thomas was drilled immediately by Donte Whitner on a statement hit at the 2-yard line. His body went limp, causing a fumble, and Saints beat writers noted that he almost fell down while running off the field. Trainers took Thomas' helmet away on the sidelines. He was ruled out for the game just before halftime. Thomas totaled 11 yards and a fumble on two touches.

Saints LG Carl Nicks called Pierre Thomas "an animal" after his tackle-breaking performance against the Lions.
"We're just a different team when that guy's healthy," explained Nicks. Drew Brees went even further, boldly stating, "I've never played with a guy who's tougher, smarter or more versatile ... I could not help but notice the way he ran, shedding tacklers one after another, getting the tough yards. It was phenomenal." Thomas' legs are fresh after being limited to 160 touches in the regular season. Expect a similar approach next season.

Saints interim coach Joe Vitt conceded that Mark Ingram (toe, knee surgeries) is unlikely to be a full-go for the start of training camp.
Ingram has undergone three surgeries over the past three offseasons, two on his left knee. While Vitt is confident Ingram will be ready by Week 1, the durability concerns won't help Ingram's chances of experiencing a bigger workload. The 2011 first-round pick should be red-flagged in 2012 fantasy drafts.
