New coach Chuck Pagano made it clear this weekend that the Colts will transform to a bigger, more physical team along the lines of the Steelers.
"We want to be tough," said Pagano, "We want to dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, specifically up front with the offensive line." Donald Brown is coming off his best season, but he could be the skill-position player most affected by the change in philosophy. The strength of his game has never been between the tackles.

Donald Brown rushed eight times for 24 yards and added two receptions for 15 yards against the Jaguars in Week 17.
An injury-prone bust unwilling to run inside entering the season, the 2009 first-rounder broke out for a career-best 645 yards and 4.8 YPC. The latter figure was a full yard more than his first two seasons as well as a yard better than either Joseph Addai or Delone Carter behind the same offensive line. The Colts front office has strongly hinted that Brown will enter the 2012 season atop the depth chart.

Donald Brown rushed 11 times for 35 yards and added two receptions for 13 yards against the Texans in Week 16.
The coaches rewarded Brown's career performance in the Colts' first win by demoting him to Joseph Addai's caddy. Despite the 3.2 YPC, Brown showed better tackle-breaking and play-making ability than Addai and remains the best back on the team in a breakout year. As long as the Colts are deferring to Addai, though, Brown isn't close to RB2 status versus the Jags in the finale.

Colts president Bill Polian excluded running back and offensive tackle when asked to identify his team's greatest needs.
The Colts need help at just about every position, but they won't be adding much talent to the running back spot. Donald Brown has impressively come on as a home-run hitter and feature back while Joseph Addai and Delone Carter are both under contract going forward. Brown is clearly the player to own in Dynasty formats.

Colts rookie QB Chandler Harnish is out 2-3 weeks with a "knee issue."
It sounds like a scope. Harnish, the 2012 Mr. Irrelevant, is battling Trevor Vittatoe for third-string duties behind Andrew Luck and Drew Stanton. The Colts may keep only two quarterbacks unless Harnish or Vittatoe jumps off the page.

Colts RB Delone Carter is recovering from offseason thumb surgery.
The injury has kept Carter out of all offseason practices to date, though it shouldn't be an issue come training camp. Carter will likely enter camp behind Donald Brown on the depth chart, but new coach Chuck Pagano's smashmouth attack favors the former's skill-set.
