Chris Ivory rushed nine times for just 23 yards against the 49ers in the Divisional round of the playoffs.
Ivory runs with plenty of power, but his lack of lateral agility was evident against a 49ers front seven that swarmed the line of scrimmage. Still, he's hardly the first back to be shut down at San Francisco this season. Fourth on the depth chart when Mark Ingram (toe surgery) is healthy, Ivory could be a trade candidate this offseason.

Chris Ivory rushed 13 times for 47 yards against the Lions in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
A hard-charging runner heading into the postseason, Ivory took a backseat to Darren Sproles and Pierre Thomas until clock-killing mode in the fourth quarter. His fantasy value takes a big hit because he's not involved in the passing game or the red zone. He's clearly the third option in the Saints backfield heading into the Divisional round game versus the 49ers.

Chris Ivory rushed 19 times for 127 yards with one touchdown in the Week 17 win over the Panthers.
With Mark Ingram (toe) done for the season, the bruising Ivory is going to have a major role in the playoffs. Over the final four weeks of the season, he rushed 58 times for 289 yards (4.98 YPC) and one score. Ivory will be the early-down pounder and goal-line back against the Lions in Saturday's playoff opener.

Chris Ivory rushed for 35 yards on eight carries in the Saints' Week 16 win over the Falcons.
Ivory ripped a tackle-breaking 11-yard run off right end on New Orleans' second play from scrimmage, and again showed his power on an eight-yard rush off RG Jahri Evans' backside at the end of the first quarter. He was mostly bottled up otherwise. The Saints probably won't use their starters much in Week 17, so Ivory could be the lead running back against the Panthers.

Saints interim coach Joe Vitt conceded that Mark Ingram (toe, knee surgeries) is unlikely to be a full-go for the start of training camp.
Ingram has undergone three surgeries over the past three offseasons, two on his left knee. While Vitt is confident Ingram will be ready by Week 1, the durability concerns won't help Ingram's chances of experiencing a bigger workload. The 2011 first-round pick should be red-flagged in 2012 fantasy drafts.
