Jets placed CB Isaiah Trufant (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
The Trufant brothers made history Sunday with Isaiah and Marcus squaring off in the same game, hours after younger brother Desmond helped the University of Washington to victory on the same field. The reunion didn't last long, as Isaiah injured his knee while tackling Leon Washington on a punt return. The special teamer is an exclusive rights free agent in 2013.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said that CB Isaiah Trufant has a "significant" hamstring injury.
Trufant is buried on the depth chart, so his absence isn't going to hurt the Jets too much. Ellis Lankster, who participated in Jets training camp, will be among those who get a look as Trufant's replacement.

Jets CB Isaiah Trufant left Sunday's game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury.
Trufant had picked up extra snaps after the Jets came out in a 3-1-7 formation to counter the Patriots' spread offense. He's questionable to return.

Trufant outperformed Mardy Gilyard in special teams practices. The Jets don't need cornerback help; Trufant will cover kicks if he's active on game day.

Santonio Holmes (foot) is not participating in voluntary workouts, as expected.
Holmes has been at Ohio State during the first set of Jets minicamps, taking classes and rehabbing his Lisfranc fracture. He admitted he couldn't play if there was a game this week, and may not even be a full go at training camp. Even if Holmes does get back to 100 percent, he should not be considered a starter in fantasy circles. He has recorded one 100-yard day in his last 20 games.

Jets WR Stephen Hill admits he didn't "understand the whole football concept" as a rookie.
That could be a problem. Hill also admits he was bothered by the intense media scrutiny. "We’re always on ESPN for something, and it was just a lot," Hill said. "It put pressure on learning, and then having to explain if I messed up, so that’s where most of the pressure was. ... It probably did throw me off during games, you’re just out there running." Hill has been put on notice by coach Rex Ryan, but WRs coach Sanjay Lal believes he could have a big year: "He can be whoever he wants to be." A large part of Hill's progress will depend on who's under center.
