Broncos SLB Von Miller says his fractured right thumb is "85 percent" healed.
Miller played the final six games of the 2011 season through the injury, sporting a heavy brace. He had surgery on January 16 after earning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. "Its about 85 percent," he confirmed. "I’m 100 percent positive that when the season starts I won’t have any problems out of it."

Von Miller was announced as the Associated Press' NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year on Saturday.
The No. 2 overall pick in the draft, Miller led the defensive turnaround in Denver this season, recording 64 tackles and 11 1/2 sacks despite missing one game and being limited in each of the Broncos' last four contests. Miller received 39 votes from the nationwide panel of media members, with 49ers' LB Aldon Smith getting the other 11 votes. Though Smith finished with more sacks (14), Miller was more deserving because he was an every-down player in 2011.

As dominant as Miller has been at times this year, he's drawn the ire of the coaching staff on more than one occasion. This time, Miller was removed after allowing Dexter McCluster to get around the edge for a 21-yard touchdown at the end of the first quarter. Miller has no sacks and just two tackles over the last three weeks while playing with a surgically repaired thumb. 49ers pass rusher Aldon Smith may beat him out for Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Broncos OLB Von Miller, Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson and Bengals WR A.J. Green are the only rookies currently heading to next month's Pro Bowl.
Cam Newton is the NFC's first alternate at quarterback, while Andy Dalton is the AFC's first alternate signal caller. Miller's 12 sacks are tied for eighth in the league, while Peterson's four punt return touchdowns give him twice as many as anyone else. Green has made 63 catches for 1,031 yards and seven scores.

Broncos TE Julius Thomas underwent surgery last week to repair ligaments in his ankle.
Surgery was performed by noted foot doctor Robert Anderson. Thomas will be limited throughout Denver's offseason program, but should be healthy in time for training camp. A former basketball player and fourth-round pick in 2011, Thomas finished his rookie season with one catch. He'll vie for playing time with Virgil Green and Joel Dreessen behind Jacob Tamme this summer.

Suspended
Broncos TE Virgil Green will not appeal his four-game suspension for violating the league's banned substances policy.
Green was suspended for ADHD. He took it "prior to obtaining an exemption from the league," and says he now has that exemption and is free to take ADHD going forward. "I apologize to my teammates, coaches and fans for my mistake," said Green, "and will make sure to never let anything like this happen again."
