Dolphins H-back Charles Clay caught four passes for 69 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's blowout win over the Bills.
Clay kept circling out of the fullback spot and the Bills simply didn't cover him. The sixth-round rookie does have good speed and hands for a 245-pounder, but we can safely chalk this up as a fluke. Before today, Clay had just eight catches for 133 yards on the season.

Dolphins FB Charles Clay (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 1.
A sixth-round pick, Clay will apparently serve as the Dolphins' lead blocker this season. Lex Hilliard should pick up the slack in his absence on Monday.

Dolphins signed No. 174 overall pick TE/FB Charles Clay to a four-year contract.
Coach Tony Sparano loves Clay's versatility, and the Dolphins plan to move him around as a complement to starter Anthony Fasano. Clay could also see action as the trigger-man in the Wildcat, though his biggest year-one impact will likely come on special teams.

Dolphins' sixth-round pick TE Charles Clay has had to get a day job during the lockout.
The Tulsa product has been "cutting gas at oil wells, cleaning the jacks to make ends meet." He's putting a face to the plight of many draftees, who are now off scholarship and without a steady salary as the lockout drags on. It is for them, and not the Tom Bradys of the NFL, that things cannot get back to normal soon enough.

Dolphins RB/FB Jerome Messam will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a torn left meniscus in his knee.
The injury occurred during the CFL season. Messam revealed that it's his second surgery on the same knee in the last five months. Already a long shot for a roster spot, this will kill Messam's chances of making an early impression.
